Mearnsiana bullosa "Mt. Apo" Eggs – Captive-Bred & Fertilised

Mearnsiana bullosa “Mt. Apo” is a large and robust phasmid species native to the highlands of Mt. Apo in Mindanao, Philippines. Renowned for their impressive adult colouration, males develop a striking metallic green with vivid yellow and red highlights, while females display an elegant matte mossy-green sheen. Hardy, beautiful, and easy to breed, this species is a true standout.

Egg Information

  • When were the eggs laid?: Within the last 1–3 months. They are fertilised, meaning they will hatch into both males and females.
  • When will the eggs hatch?: Usually 4-5 months, but can be later (~6 months) depending on conditions.

How to Hatch

  • Temperature: I keep mine at a consistent 23 °C, but a range of 20–28 °C is also suitable.
  • Lighting: A natural photoperiod (day-and-night light cycle) is optimal.
  • Humidity: Optimal humidity is 70–80%. Lightly spritz the egg container every other day to maintain this level.

Eggs are packaged safely and securely in a test tube and shipped in a bubble wrap–padded envelope.
