Native to Thailand, Cubaris sp "Black Pearl" is a beautiful tropical isopod named for its smooth, lustrous appearance. Rather than being jet black, the body displays soft charcoal-grey and warm brown tones beneath a translucent exoskeleton, giving it a subtle pearlescent sheen.
The name "Black Pearl" comes from the species' subtle pearlescent sheen, which gives the exoskeleton a soft lustre reminiscent of a natural black pearl rather than a flat black finish
