Cubaris sp "Goldfish"

Newly available within the hobby, Cubaris sp “Goldfish” is an unusual Thai isopod recognised by its dark grey to near-black body and contrasting reddish-orange colouration around the face and rear. Some breeders also trade it under the name “Piranha”, while its broad body shape and subtle dorsal markings suggest a close hobby association with Cubaris sp “Catfish”. The warm orange areas can vary considerably between individuals, with some developing vivid colour at both ends of the body while others remain much darker and more understated. This natural variation gives established colonies a particularly diverse and intriguing appearance.
