Species profile

Cubaris sp "Jupiter"

Cubaris sp "Jupiter" is a long-time favourite among isopod keepers, appreciated for its clean and attractive colouration. Native to Thailand, this species features warm yellow to golden tones paired with dark grey to near-black banding, creating a pattern reminiscent of the swirling belts of the planet Jupiter. Particularly vivid individuals are sometimes referred to in the hobby as “High Contrast” Jupiter, displaying stronger separation between the yellow and dark bands.

Jupiter gets its name from its distinctive yellow and dark banded pattern, which resembles the alternating atmospheric belts seen across the planet Jupiter
