Phyllium tobeloense "Galela" Nymphs
Phyllium tobeloense "Galela" is a magnificent leaf insect species native to Galela on Halmahera Island in Indonesia. It is popular among enthusiasts due to its gorgeous colouration, which has earned it the nickname “Autumn leaf insect”.
The nymphs available are from a parthenogenetic culture, meaning they are all female. The nymphs you will receive will all be green (as younger nymphs all turn green first), with some individuals gradually developing the brown or reddish colouration as they mature. Please note this colouration is not guaranteed!
These nymphs are captive-bred (CB).
Care Information
- Size: L2/L3 nymphs (~20-30mm in length)
- Foodplant: Feeding well on bramble
- Temperature: 20–26 °C. Room temperature is usually fine
- Humidity: 60–80% – mist enclosure daily or every other day
- Enclosure: Minimum 30 × 30 × 45 cm (W*L*H). Extra height preferred for moulting and climbing
